About Us
We are a friendly, family run pub – our aim is to provide a warm welcome to our visitors and to serve the best drink and food in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Even though we are in the heart of rural Ireland, at The Derg Inn you are likely to meet a broad mix of people - from our local regulars to visitors from the cruise boats, fishermen from the continent to Americans, Finnish foresters (honestly) to our invigorated (and invigorating!) water-skiers, artists and actors, thinkers and doers and, of course, ourselves and our great team of staff who make it all possible.
We enjoy and welcome children - for the comfort of all of our guests, we just ask that they be supervised by their parents.

Restaurant
The Derg Inn is famous for its bar and food. All of our food is home-made on the premises, from our soups and sauces right through to our delicious desserts. We use local, organic produce when available and our team of international chefs have built up quite a reputation for The Derg Inn ensuring our place in the most discerning national and international food guides.
We are recommended by Georgina Campbell in the Jameson Guide to Irish Pubs, by John and Sally McKenna in the Bridgestone Guide, we were listed as one of only 15 Irish pubs in The Guardian Guide to Gastropubs which highlighted the top 150 gastropubs in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
The Derg Inn is wheelchair friendly and if you have a special need, we will try our best to cater for you. Our beer garden is really special, surrounded by a bawn wall built in the 1100s with a history and magic all of its own. We have an outdoor fireplace, gas heaters and plants which grace us with their elegant presence every season.
